Quai aux grains
Construction of 53 housing units and shops, Ivry-sur-Seine (FR)
In the Confluence neighbourhood of Ivry-sur-Seine, on the eastern edge of Paris, a filter space is created between Rue Pierre Rigaud and the 53 apartments by means of a random assembly of perforated and screen-printed metal panels. A play on pixels alternating open, closed and semi-transparent reveals or conceals the lives of the inhabitants, according to its configuration. Positioned on the south-east side of the Quai aux Grains development, this low-energy building continues in the spirit of its contemporaneous neighbours, defining itself by this mesh that assures its identity.
